post-holi skin tips
Cleanse
It is vital to take care of your skin post Holi
celebrations. Use mild cleanser, face wash and body wash thoroughly to cleanse your
hair, face and body, ensuring to get rid yourself of colors in order to avoid acne,
rashes and allergies post the Holi celebrations. Use good cleansing cream and oil that
blends and works effectively on removing the leftovers of colors and harsh chemicals
with minimum friction. Use a gentle clarifying shampoo to rinse color from hair. After
shampooing, don’t forget to apply conditioner, do use a natural hair serum formulated by
mixing base and essential oils like lavender or bergamot to relax your hair strands and
reduce frizzy, dry and damaged hairs.
Moisturize
Apply effective, nourishing body lotions and good face
moisturizer that matches well with your skin type. This will not only hydrate but also
nourish and soothe your skin, resulting soft and supple as the skin tends to become dry
due to excess colors and sun exposures. You can use mild steroids and antibiotic based
creams if allergy happened due to harsh colors for a week. Also mix your moisturizer
with a few drops of naturally extracted essential oils for a luxurious, lingering
fragrance afterwards. Lastly you can use aloe vera gel as a sleeping mask before going
to bed.
Sun-protection cream
Use a good and hydrating sunscreen which is best suited with
your skin type. Apply generous amounts of sun protection cream on the face, neck, hands
and the body. Don’t forget to reapply every 2 to 3 hours. Use long sleeved cotton
clothes to cover most of your skin and hats to protect your skin.
Hydrate
Don’t forget to hydrate your body by drinking a lot of water
throughout the day. Hydrate yourself with enough water, fruit juices and fruits with
high water contents. Juices and fruits help keep you hydrated and give your skin a
healthy glow from the inside. Keep yourself hydrated all the time.
These simple and easy steps will ensure a clean and glowing
skin the next morning and will also protect your skin from harmful chemicals. Have a
Happy and safe Holi!
